But the speaker cable is mighty fine. Unfortunately, I am selling the GPS unit because the Garmin street maps CD costs far too much. This combination car power/speaker is a great device. It allows my older Garmin to speak directions without the convoluted bare wire speaker cable wiring. I can buy a new model GPS unit for what they charge for a map.
This cord has a straight plug into the back of the receiver. Much better design than original cord with 90 degree bend.
It was a good price and I liked the fact that the cord did not have a 90 degree turn at the plug but it still does not stay in place and cannot be used. comparing it to my existing charger cord, it is missing a flared out area close to the end of the cord which would allow friction to hold the cord in place. eventhough the add for this charger speaker said it would fit several garmin models including the 478 which is what I have, it does not work with my unit. It will plug in and if I want to hold the plug in place, will work.However if you are not able to hold the cable and the unit together, it will fall out. This cord does not have this, it is not the same as the cords that I have purchased in the past and therefore it is useless to me.
This power plug/speaker fits snuggly into the back of my 276c GPS and the sound is good. I leave it plugged into the unit and transfer it from my boat to car.
With this ecessório you can hear the instructions given by the GPS. A Very important accessory, allow you to continue using your GPS after the battery and it also works as live-voice. I have a test this Garmin 276C GPS accessory during a crossing of 14 hours I did in Brazil bring my boat from Angra do Reis to Rio de Janeiro and found it excellent.
